Everyday Smokey Eye

Hey everyone! I'm really excited to post my first blog! I get asked a lot how I do my regular makeup so what better way to start off my blog then with just that! I know this is probably a lot for some people but I am just a lot in general.. lol. I usually only wear a full face of makeup though if I am going to work or dinner and on the weekends. If I just have to make quick errands I usually will just go without any makeup at all. But I love being able to play around with different colors and this is probably my favorite combination. Its more of a dark brown/purple/rose smokey eye so its good for the fall which I am so excited for! Most of these pictures are VERY awkward because I really don't know how to angle to see everything and for it to completely show true to color and of course it was cloudy outside but I tried my best and just bear with me! I promise they will get better! I will list every product used and also I will link at the bottom of the post where you can find each item! Hope everyone enjoys! Please follow my blog so you don't miss out on anything else! XOXO.

Ill first start with everything on my face! I first go in with my Bare Minerals Prime Time Original Face Primer. I rub that all over my face and it gives your foundation something smooth to sit on. I then go in with my Benefit Porefessional and focus that mainly on my T-zone where my pores are slightly on the big side. After that is all soaked in, I will go in with my foundation which is L'Oreal True Match and I will blend it in with the Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki Brush which is HEAVEN! For under the eyes, nose, chin, upper lip, and forehead I will use MAC Pro Longwear Concealer. I swear by this concealer. It doesn't crease or budge at all! It has amazing coverage and will hide anything that you want it too! I will set all my concealer with Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Powder with a Real Techniques setting brush. To bronze up the face I will take a Real Techniques powder brush and my NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer and bronze up my cheeks, forehead, and neck. For my more defined contour I will take a small contour brush from Real Techniques and my Two Faced Chocolate Soliel Bronzer in medium deep and go right under my cheek bone blending it upward and going back with the big powder brush to blend it out if needed! I will also take it up on my temples, jaw line, and with a small eye shadow brush I will go down the side of my nose. For blush I used Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso. Instead of putting it directly on the apples of my cheeks, I go slightly above where I put my contour. I have more of a round head so doing it this way will make the face more slimming! I also use a Real Techniques Blush Brush for that. Can yall tell I love Real Techniques? Lol, super cheap brushes and great quality! For a highlight, I take my holy grail Mary-Lou Manzier from the Balm on a dense stippling brush and put in on the highest points on my face! This will give your skin the prettiest glow EVER! For my lips, I first lined them and slightly filled in with Jordana Lip liner in Tawny. After that I went over it with a Wet and Wild lipstick in Fergie Daily from the Fergie Collection. Probably one of my favorites nudes! I rarely use lip-gloss because I like more of a matte look but if you were wanting a gloss, NYX lip-gloss in Sugar Pie would look suuuuuuuper!

And here's the awkward picture I was talking about! I still gotta figure out a way to take pictures of my eye shadow. But time for the eyes! I always fill in my brows first and to do that I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in soft brown with a Sephora angled brush. Ill take some more of the same concealer as before and a small flat brush and carve out the bottom of my brows. I don't do this everyday cause sometimes it can be a little much but if I have time it makes such a big difference! I will then go ahead and prime the rest of my eyelid with same concealer and make sure its well blended. All the shadows that I will use for this look come from the first Urban Decay Naked palette. My biggest piece of advice when applying eye shadow is to BLEND the crap out of it! Its the only way to ensure your shadow blends smoothly with each other and not look like a big glob lol. With a big fluffy blending brush take the color Naked and blend it into the crease and slightly up towards the brow bone. With the same brush take the color Buck and blend it into the crease but not above where you put Naked. Where you lay your brush down first is where you will get the darkest color pay off so make sure you always start toward the outside of the eye and blend in with short windshield wiper motions. With a small pencil brush take the color Darkhorse and place that in the outer corner and inner corner of the eye. Leave the center of the eye bare as possible and also leave the tear duct bare. Take another fluffy brush and blend that out until it is completely smooth. Next take NYX Jumbo Eye pencil in Milk and place that in the middle of your eye where there is no shadow. Blend it out with you finger. Its okay if it blends on top of the shadow cause we are gonna go back and fix it! With a flat shader brush take the color Toasted from the palate and place that right on top of where you put the eye pencil. The eye pencil gave you a white base so your eye shadow can be as pigmented as possible to give you that "pop" of color. Now this is all up to personal preference. You can go back in with the pencil brush and Darkhorse and use the same technique as before and darken up the outer V if you felt like you lost some color. And also you can do the same with Toasted. Just remember to blend blend blend!!! With a small shader brush, take the color Virgin and put that under the brow bone for a highlight and inner tear duct to brighten up your eyes! With a flat definer brush go in with the color Darkhorse and smudge that under the lower lash line. This will give your eyes a real smoked out look. Now time for eyeliner! Were almost done yall! You can use whatever liner that you like but I prefer the Maybelline Gel Liner in Black and line the top of my lash line with it. If you are a person who loves to do winged liner, this look with go good with that also, I just didn't do it this time! For lashes, I did apply some falsies. I never really wear falsies but I am trying to get in to wearing them more often because they really do just complete any makeup look. Before I apply my lashes I always measure and cut them to make sure they will mold to my lash line perfect! I will then go ahead and apply my real lashes with some mascara and today I used the Miss Magma mascara in black and just did one real good coat of that. The lashes that I used today are from House of Lashes and are called Au Naturale. After applying the lashes, I will press the fake ones into my real ones to make sure they blend and you can even throw on another coat of mascara if needed but I try not too because the less mascara on your falsies, the more times you can reuse them! After letting the glue dry go in with any liquid liner and trace over your liner you put before. This helps hide the lash band. Today I used Wet in Wild Mega Liner in black. Using a Revlon pencil eyeliner in black I tight lined my top and bottom lashes to help tie everything all in! And that's it yall! I hoped yall liked the look and that I explained everything okay! If you have any suggestions how to organize things please leave comments and let me know! But thanks again for taking time to read my post! Ill be looking forward to posting new things every week! Take care! XOXO, Lauren!
